1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

1.1These Terms and Conditions (Terms), including the Key Details above, form part of the Promotion. Any information or instructions published by the Promoter about how to register, including on-air during Budget Battlers, on 9Now or at www.budgetbattlers.com, also form part of these Terms. By registering, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms. If there is any inconsistency, the Key Details prevail.

2. ELIGIBILITY

2.1Entry is open only to Australian residents aged 18 years or over at the time of entry.

2.2The following people are ineligible to register: directors, officers, employees and contractors (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, Nine and its related bodies corporate, the prize suppliers, and any agency or company associated with the Promotion; and anyone who has appeared or will appear as a homeowner on Budget Battlers Season 3. Immediate family means a spouse, de facto partner, ex-spouse, parent, stepparent, child, stepchild, sibling (including step and half siblings), grandparent or grandchild, whether by blood, marriage or adoption.

2.3The Promoter may request proof of identity, age and residency at any time. Failure to provide satisfactory proof may result in disqualification.

3. PROMOTIONAL PERIOD

3.1The Promotion commences and closes at the times stated in the Key Details and is divided into six (6) consecutive weekly Entry Periods, as set out in the Weekly Schedule. Entries received outside an Entry Period will be invalid. All times are Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT).

3.2Each Entry Period is a separate weekly entry window. An entry will be considered for the weekly prizes allocated to its Entry Period and, subject to these Terms, for the Series Prizes after Episode 6. Entries do not carry over into a later week’s weekly-prize judging. Entrants wishing to enter in more than one week must submit a new entry in each relevant Entry Period, subject to the one-entry-per-person-per-week limit.

3.3Entrants do not need to watch a particular episode to register. Episodes are available on Channel 9 and on demand on 9Now, and entries may be submitted at any time during the relevant Entry Period.

4. REGISTER TO WIN

4.1To register, entrants must, during an Entry Period:

(a)visit www.budgetbattlers.com, sign up as a Budget Battler and follow the links to the competition entry form;

(b)complete the entry form with their full name, email address, home address (including the address of the property proposed for any RESINC installation, if different), mobile phone number and date of birth; agree to receive marketing communications from Maker Media as a condition of entry; and indicate separately whether they would like to hear about exclusive offers directly from our partners (optional); and

(c)answer the Entry Question, “Tell us in 100 words or less why you deserve to win” and submit the entry. Answers exceeding 100 words will be invalid.

4.2Entry is free. Standard internet and data costs charged by the entrant’s service provider may apply.

4.3A maximum of one (1) entry per person is permitted in each weekly Entry Period (corresponding to one episode). An entrant may submit a new entry in a later Entry Period. Any additional entries from the same person in an Entry Period, including entries made using another email address or account, will be invalid. Entries must not carry over between Entry Periods.

4.4Entries must be the entrant’s own original work, must not infringe the rights (including intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights) of any person, and must not be defamatory, obscene, offensive, discriminatory, or otherwise unlawful or inappropriate in the Promoter’s reasonable opinion. The Promoter may disqualify any entry that does not comply with these Terms.

4.5Entries generated by script, macro, bot, artificial intelligence tool or other automated means, entries made using multiple or false identities or email addresses, and bulk or third-party entries will be invalid.

4.6An entry is deemed received at the time it is received into the Promoter’s database, not at the time of transmission. The Promoter is not responsible for entries that are lost, late, incomplete, corrupted or misdirected, including due to technical failure.

5. JUDGING

5.1This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining winners. Each valid entry will be judged on its literary and creative merit by two (2) judges appointed by the Promoter, applying clause 5.2. Weekly prize judgings take place on the six dates in the Weekly Schedule, considering only entries for the relevant Entry Period. The two Series Prizes will be judged at the same time as the Week 6 weekly prizes, on Thursday 10 December 2026, considering valid entries received across all six Entry Periods, subject to the one-prize-per-person rule.

5.2Entries will be judged against the following criteria, each weighted equally: (a) creativity and originality; (b) how compellingly the entry explains why the entrant deserves to win; and (c) relevance to the spirit of Budget Battlers.

5.3At each weekly judging, all valid entries for that Entry Period will be ranked from highest to lowest in accordance with clauses 5.2 and 5.6. The weekly prizes will be allocated in the following fixed order to the highest-ranked entrant eligible for each prize: (1) RESINC 6.6kW LONGi solar panel and 14kWh Anker battery system; (2) She Sells Full Scholarship; (3) Timtek — up to 20 m² of Stonetek™ Hybrid Flooring, including installation to one room; and (4), (5) and (6) one Stick on Tiles Australia $100 voucher each. Once allocated a prize, an entrant is removed from consideration for the remaining prizes. If an entrant is ineligible for a particular prize, including because of supplier-specific eligibility or property suitability requirements, the next highest-ranked eligible entrant who has not already won a prize will be considered for that prize. An entrant passed over for one prize may still be considered for a later prize for which they are eligible. The judges will record a ranked reserve list for each prize.

5.4Each entrant may win a maximum of one (1) prize across the entire Promotion, including weekly prizes and Series Prizes. An entrant may submit one entry in each weekly Entry Period, but may receive only one prize in total. After all six weekly prize allocations have been determined, the Series Prizes will be allocated from the ranked pool of valid entries received during all six Entry Periods, excluding entrants who have won any weekly prize. The Series Prizes will be allocated in this fixed order: (1) TradieSpec 12-month dual-cab ute rental; and (2) Storage King 12-month storage. The highest-ranked eligible entrant who has not already won a prize receives each prize, applying the same eligibility and reserve-entry process in clause 5.3. Where an entrant has submitted valid entries in more than one Entry Period, only that entrant’s highest-ranked entry will be used for Series Prize ranking.

5.5The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter will not provide feedback on entries.

5.6Each judge will independently score each entry out of ten (10) points against each of the three criteria in clause 5.2, for a maximum of thirty (30) points per judge. The two judges’ scores will be added to produce an overall score out of sixty (60), and entries ranked in descending order of that score. Where entries have the same overall score, the tie will be resolved by comparing, in order: (a) their combined creativity and originality scores; (b) their combined compelling-explanation scores; and (c) their combined relevance-to-Budget-Battlers scores. If entries remain tied after these comparisons, an additional independent judge appointed by the Promoter will score the tied entries against the same three criteria, and the entry with the higher additional-judge total will rank first. If a tie remains, the entry received first in the Promoter’s database (as determined under clause 4.6) will rank first. No random selection or draw will be used.

5.7The Promoter will retain a record of judging scores, tie-break outcomes, prize allocations and ranked reserves. If a provisionally selected winner is found ineligible, declines or forfeits a prize, the prize will be offered to the next highest-ranked eligible reserve for that prize who has not already won another prize, in accordance with clause 7.2. All allocations remain subject to the prize-specific conditions in clause 6.7 and the applicable supplier annexures. All prize allocations are provisional until the Promoter has confirmed the entrant’s eligibility and any applicable supplier-specific suitability assessment. A provisionally selected winner must not incur expenses, commence work or enter into any agreement with a prize supplier in reliance on the prize before receiving written confirmation from the Promoter that the prize has been formally awarded. The Promoter is not responsible for costs incurred before that confirmation, except to the extent required by law.

RESINC will determine the installation configuration, components, equipment and installation requirements according to property suitability, location and installation viability. Installation is subject to RESINC serviceability, technical, structural, electrical, safety and regulatory requirements, necessary approvals and installer availability. The entrant must provide the nominated installation property address for suitability assessment, and the recipient must have legal authority and necessary permissions to approve installation and allow reasonable site access. Any work beyond standard installation, including structural modifications, switchboard upgrades or rectification work, is at the winner’s expense; RESINC must identify any such work and costs in advance, and no costs will be incurred without the winner’s prior agreement. The recipient must assign applicable rebates, incentives, certificates and other benefits to RESINC to the extent permitted by law, and must not claim benefits already assigned. If the nominated property is unsuitable, RESINC will explain why and discuss in good faith a suitable alternative property or forfeiture; if no suitable arrangement is agreed, the Promoter may select an alternative eligible recipient under these Terms. No cash alternative applies, subject to applicable law. Full conditions are in the confirmed RESINC Solar and Batteries Prize-Specific Terms and Conditions annexed to this document, which form part of these Terms and prevail to the extent of any inconsistency specifically relating to the RESINC prize.

The Promoter will publish the first initial, surname and State or Territory of residence of each confirmed winner on www.budgetbattlers.com from the applicable winner publication date in the Weekly Schedule (or, for Series Prizes, the date in the Key Details), for a minimum period of 28 days, subject to applicable law.

7.2If a provisionally selected winner cannot be contacted, does not claim their prize, fails to provide required documents within five (5) business days of notification, or is ineligible (including due to a prize-specific suitability requirement), the prize may be offered to the next highest-ranked eligible reserve for that same prize, who will be notified within two (2) business days. The one-prize-per-person limit applies across all weekly and Series Prizes.

7.3Prize fulfilment is subject to clause 6.7 and, for TradieSpec, Storage King, Timtek and RESINC prizes, the respective supplier-specific annexures forming part of these Terms. Physical prizes will be delivered to an Australian street address (no PO boxes), where applicable. Vehicle rental, storage, scholarship enrolment, flooring installation and RESINC solar and battery installation are subject to the applicable supplier’s scheduling, property suitability, approvals and fulfilment arrangements. For RESINC, any additional work beyond standard installation is at the winner’s expense, subject to the RESINC annexure.

8. PUBLICITY

8.1Winners agree to participate in reasonable publicity relating to the Promotion and consent to the Promoter and Nine using their name, likeness, image, voice, state of residence and entry (in whole or part) in any media, including on Channel 9, 9Now, the Budget Battlers website and social media channels, for an unlimited period without further payment or notice.

8.2By registering, each entrant grants the Promoter and Nine and the participating prize sponsors a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, edit and publish their entry for purposes related to the Promotion and Budget Battlers, and consents to any act or omission that might otherwise infringe their moral rights in the entry.

8.3As part of the Promotion, the Promoter may invite selected winners to participate in filming, photography or other promotional activities at their home, including the delivery, installation or use of their prize. Any such activities will be arranged in consultation with the winner and subject to mutually agreed dates, access arrangements and any necessary permissions.

8.4Where a winner agrees to participate, the Promoter, Nine and their authorised production partners may film, photograph, record, edit, broadcast and otherwise use footage and images captured at the winner's home, including the winner's name, image, voice and participation, in connection with Budget Battlers and its associated promotional activities, across television, streaming, digital, social media and other media, without further payment. Any filming will be subject to appropriate location and participant release agreements.

9. PRIVACY

9.1The Promoter collects entrants’ personal information, including home address and any separately nominated installation property address, to register them as Budget Battlers, conduct the Promotion, verify eligibility, judge entries, contact and assess shortlisted entrants, assess RESINC solar and battery installation suitability, award prizes and comply with legal obligations. If entrants do not provide the required information, they cannot enter. Personal information may be disclosed to Nine, prize suppliers, the Promoter’s agents and contractors, and relevant regulators to the extent reasonably necessary for these purposes. For RESINC, only shortlisted entrants’ names, property addresses and relevant property information will be shared with RESINC or its authorised representatives for eligibility and installation suitability assessment, and not for direct marketing unless the entrant separately opts in.

9.2As a condition of entry, entrants must agree to the following: “By entering, I agree to receive email and SMS marketing communications from Maker Media about Budget Battlers and other Maker Media productions. I understand that I can unsubscribe at any time.” Entrants may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe mechanism in the communication. Consent to marketing from competition partners remains separate and optional.

9.3Optional partner offers: If an entrant ticks the box asking whether they would like to hear about exclusive offers directly from our partners, the Promoter may disclose the entrant’s name, email address and mobile phone number to the participating Partners: (a) TradieSpec Pty Ltd (ABN 38 629 902 576); (b) Storage King Pty Ltd (ABN 86 079 872 281); (c) Stick on Tiles Australia (ABN 21 685 464 466); (d) She Sells with Brooke Pty Ltd (ABN 67 674 094 681); (e) Timtek South Melbourne (ABN 68 702 959 019); and (f) RESINC Solar and Batteries (ABN 81 712 459 481), for direct marketing in accordance with each Partner’s privacy policy. This consent is optional, is not a condition of entry, and does not affect judging. Entrants can withdraw consent or unsubscribe from Partner marketing. Sharing property details with RESINC solely to assess shortlisted entrants for installation suitability is separate from, and does not authorise, partner marketing.

9.4Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy available at www.budgetbattlers.com, which explains how entrants can access or correct their personal information or make a complaint. Enquiries can be directed to info@budgetbattlers.com.

10. LIABILITY

10.1Nothing in these Terms limits, excludes or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.

10.2To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter, Nine, the prize suppliers and their respective officers, employees and agents (the Released Parties) are not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including indirect or consequential loss), or for any personal injury, suffered or sustained in connection with the Promotion, registering for the Promotion, or accepting or using a prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law. Winners are responsible for ensuring any DIY work undertaken using a prize is carried out safely and in compliance with applicable laws, including requirements to use licensed tradespeople for electrical, plumbing and other regulated work.

10.3The Released Parties are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network, computer system, server, provider, website or software, including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s device relating to or resulting from participation in the Promotion.

11. GENERAL

11.1The Promoter may, in its absolute discretion, disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, provides false information, breaches these Terms, or engages in unlawful or improper conduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Promotion. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions,

“Storage King” means Storage King Pty Ltd (ABN 86 079 872 281) being the entity responsible for arranging and funding the Prize under these Terms and Conditions. The storage provided as part of the Prize will be supplied by the operator of the participating Storage King facility selected under clause 6. The Recipient must enter into the Self Storage Agreement with that operator.

“Prize” means an entitlement to up to 12 months’ storage at a participating Storage King facility, capped at AUD $5,000 including GST, whichever limit is reached first, subject to these Terms and Conditions.

“Recipient” means the winner or the friend or family member nominated under clause 8.

Prize Conditions

1.The Prize must be redeemed and the Self Storage Agreement commenced on or before 30 June 2027. The Prize may continue beyond that date, subject to the limits in clauses 2 and 3.

2.The total value of the Prize is capped at AUD $5,000 including GST. Only storage fees covered under clause 11 count towards this cap. If the cap is reached before the end of the 12 month period, the Prize will cease. Any storage fees exceeding the remaining value of the Prize, and all subsequent storage fees, will be payable by the Recipient in accordance with the Self Storage Agreement.

3.The Prize is valid for a maximum period of 12 months from the commencement date of the Self Storage Agreement, unless the $5,000 cap is reached earlier. Once the 12-month period expires, all ongoing storage fees and associated charges become the responsibility of the Recipient if they continue storing at the facility.

4.The Prize is not redeemable or exchangeable for cash and may only be transferred as permitted under clause 8. No refund, credit, or cash payment will be provided for any unused value of the Prize if the Recipient vacates their unit or terminates their Self Storage Agreement before the end of the storage period.

5.The storage period commences on the start date of the first Self Storage Agreement entered into to redeem the Prize and concludes 12 months after that date or when the $5,000 cap is reached, whichever occurs first. The storage period will not be paused, extended, or reset if the Recipient:

a)transfers to another unit;

b)vacates their unit and later returns; or

c)enters into a new Self Storage Agreement during the storage period.

Any remaining value of the Prize may be used following a unit transfer or return to storage, subject to the original expiry date, the remaining entitlement and clauses 6 and 7.

6.The Prize is available only at participating Storage King facilities in Australia. Storage King reserves the right to determine the facility location where the Prize will be redeemed, acting reasonably including where multiple Storage King facilities operate within the Recipient’s local area.

7.The Prize may be applied to any available storage unit type, subject to availability at the selected Storage King facility.

8.The winner may transfer the Prize to a nominated friend or family member prior to the commencement of the Self Storage Agreement, by notifying Storage King before the agreement is entered into. Once a Self Storage Agreement has commenced, the Prize cannot be transferred to another person.

9.The Recipient of the Prize must enter into and comply with the participating Storage King facility operator’s standard self storage agreement (Self Storage Agreement) and all associated terms and conditions provided to the Recipient before entering into that agreement. These Prize conditions govern the Prize, and the Self Storage Agreement otherwise governs the storage arrangement.

10.The Self Storage Agreement may be terminated in accordance with its terms and applicable law, including any applicable notice and opportunity to remedy requirements. If the Self Storage Agreement is lawfully terminated because of the Recipient’s material breach, Storage King may also terminate the Recipient’s entitlement to any remaining value of the Prize. This clause does not create any additional right to terminate the Self Storage Agreement.

11.The Prize applies solely to storage fees and does not include insurance, lock purchases, packaging products, administration fees, or any other goods or services unless otherwise agreed in writing by Storage King. These excluded charges are payable separately by the Recipient and do not count towards the $5,000 cap.
